Boris Batalovic begins his education as a violinist in Serbia and graduated from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. In 2007. He went to Cremona in Italy, where he studied the most prestigious school of violin making “Antonio Stradivari”. Already at the beginning Boris is recognized as a major talent and future master. Construction of the first instruments was followed with great critics of Cremonas masters. He has worked with renowned masters in Cremona as assistant but also as assistant of sound as a violinist, which led to a special experience in the field of sound research. Some of the famous names from the world of violin makers with whom Boris Batalovic collaborated with is: Daniele Scolari, Alessandro Voltini, Claudio Amighetti, Luca Maria Gallo, Rusi Slavov, Philippe Devanneaux, Luisa Vania Campagnolo, Mark De Sterke, Bernabeu Borja, Michele Dobner, Marko Maria Gastaldi, Massimo Negroni, Andrea Bozzini. In 2012 he founded his atelier in Kragujevac in Serbia where he works together with hes wife Milena as assistant. Boris Batalovic uses classical models in constructions of violins, violas and cellos as well as models of his own construction. In selecting of material he uses only a combination of centuries-old Cremona school : Alpine spruce and Bosnian maple. His work is in the permanent artistic growth, focused on the development of a personal esthetic and acoustic style.

“The International School for Violin Makers Antonio Stradivari” was established back in 1938 to commemorate 300 years since the death of the famous Antonio Stradivari. For almost 90 years of existence from school came out about 1000 graduated masters from around the world. Since its establishment, Boris was the only Serb who graduated and became a violin maker.
